Description:
- Sutherland is seeking to fill an entry-level Analyst position in Credit/Equity/Investment Banking Research
- As a part of the Research Team, the candidate will work with a diverse group of investment professionals, executives, managers, and subject matter experts across the globe
- The candidate is required to have a good understanding of financial statements, valuation methods, and due diligence
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint will be a plus
- The candidate must have good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to provide and defend an opinion with the company’s management teams, global fund managers, and the in-house sales team/various stakeholders
- The individual should be a good team player
Responsibilities – The candidate might have to perform one or more task(s) from the list below
- Perform investment research, including building financial models with KPI-driven Revenue models, Cost drivers, Working capital analysis, Capex schedule, Capital Structure forecast, Covenant analysis, Default & Recovery workouts, and IRR sensitivities
- Working on various Valuation methodologies like DCF, DDM, Relative Valuations, NAV, NPV, etc., and value Equity/Fixed Income/High-Yield/Alternative instruments, M&A Transactions, Special Situations, etc.
- Support the team in delivering client requests which will ultimately help end-clients in M&A Advisory Research, Buy Side / Sell Side Research, Idea Generation, Pitch books, Due-diligence assignments, etc.
- Earnings support, Company profiling, Industry profiling, Operational & Financial Benchmarking, Precedent Transaction Analysis, Investment Memos / Confidential Information Memorandums
- Portfolio maintenance including updating and monitoring the client’s portfolio management spreadsheet
- Term Sheet preparation from credit agreements and bond indentures
- Drafting Investment Memos including identification of investment catalysts and providing recommendations on high-yield bonds/loans, including fundamental and relative value views for primary and secondary trades
- Presenting the primary/secondary deals to the investment committee; have full ownership of the deal and monitor its constant performance against benchmark bonds
- Maintain portfolio coverage including model updates and earning summary write-ups, while maintaining regular news on the portfolio
- Analyze financial information to produce forecasts of business, industry, and economic conditions for making investment decisions
- Present oral and written reports on general economic trends, individual corporations, and/or entire industry
- Analyze and summarize complex data and turn it into insightful presentations/charts
- Using various databases, and search engines to find insightful data
- Work independently with client analysts to define concepts/deliverables
Qualifications:
- MBA-Finance from tier-I/ II institutes/ CA, CFA (US) is a plus
- Strong understanding of the financial / investment concepts / financial statements
- Strong communication, presentation, and language skills
- Quality focused with attention to detail
- Technologically competent (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, AI tools, if any)
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality research in a timely manner
- Be able to adjust quickly and smoothly to changing priorities and conditions
- Be proactive in developing trust and professional rapport with employees and team members; work as a team player
