Role Overview
Mphasis is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to manage GST, VAT, Service Tax, and Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) compliance, advisory, litigation, and tax audits. The role involves interacting with tax authorities, handling GST appeals and refunds, providing tax advisory services, and ensuring compliance with evolving indirect tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage indirect tax compliance related to GST, VAT, Service Tax, and FTP (Foreign Trade Policy).
- Draft Indirect Tax (IDT) advisory opinions and provide tax consultation to internal stakeholders.
- Handle GST litigation, including e-filing of appeals.
- Prepare and submit replies to Show Cause Notices (SCNs).
- Represent the organization before Central and State GST authorities.
- Coordinate with tax officials regarding pending adjudication matters.
- Prepare data and documentation required for GST audits.
- Process GST refund applications and follow up with tax authorities.
- Conduct internal tax awareness and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Monitor changes in GST laws and ensure organizational compliance.
- Coordinate with external GST consultants on tax-related matters.
- Prepare analytical reports using Microsoft Excel, Pivot Tables, and advanced data functions.
