🧾 About the Role – Process Lead (US Mortgage Underwriting)
As a US Mortgage Underwriter at Infosys BPM, you will review and evaluate mortgage loan applications, analyze borrower eligibility, and ensure adherence to regulatory and investor guidelines.
This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical ability, and a deep understanding of underwriting principles across Conventional, FHA, and VA loan products.
🎯 Key Responsibilities

Underwrite and evaluate residential mortgage loan applications

Ensure compliance with all investor and regulatory requirements
-
Analyze borrower income, credit, and collateral documentation
-
Review AUS findings (DU & LP) and issue underwriting decisions
-
Validate all supporting documentation for accuracy
-
Review property appraisals, income proofs, and loan-to-value ratios
-
Ensure all risk assessments are complete before approval

Collaborate with internal teams for issue resolution
-
Maintain underwriting quality and audit standards
🧠 Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 4–8 years in US Mortgage Underwriting / Re-Underwriting

Education: Graduate / Postgraduate (Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree)

Hands-on experience with Desktop Underwriting (DU) and Loan Prospector (LP)
-
Working knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA guidelines
-
Strong understanding of risk assessment, income verification, and credit analysis

Proficient with Mortgage Origination Systems (LOS)

Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Willing to work in US Night Shifts (6:30 PM – 3:30 AM)
