🧠 Job Purpose:
The Global Knowledge Services (GKS) team at General Mills empowers global R&D and business decisions through advanced analytics and knowledge-sharing platforms. As a Data Scientist II, you will design and maintain scalable data infrastructure, enable analytics workflows, and collaborate with cross-functional teams globally.
🔧 Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and manage scalable data pipelines and infrastructure
- Work closely with statisticians, data scientists, BI developers
- Use GCP tools like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Composer (Airflow), Pub/Sub
- Perform data modeling, performance tuning, and schema optimization
- Ensure timely and high-quality data delivery for insights and decision-making
✅ Required Skills & Experience:
- 4–7 years in data engineering roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Proficient in BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub
- Solid coding skills in Python and/or Java/Scala
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform preferred)
- Strong SQL skills and experience in large-scale data warehouses
- Excellent communication & collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
