Role & responsibilities
- Annual Budget Review
- Review the preliminary budget prepared by the Analyst (post collation of bottom up forecasts received from all functions)
- Question assumptions, rationale and inputs feeding into the budget. Where required, engage with the functions to make necessary iterations in order to align the Annual Budget with the requirements and expectations of senior management.
- Annual Budget Presentation
- Post iterations, review and sign off on the budget
- Make a detailed presentation to senior management, highlighting key features of the budget approved, including growth targets, incremental changes from the previous year, etc.
Manage the necessary iterations to the budget basis feedback received from senior management - BI Reporting Tool Rollout
- Drive the rollout of the Global BI Reporting Tool within India through liasing with the concerned BI Tool team globally
- Monthly Operations Dashboard
- Review performance of business against key function specific financial KPIs. Identify areas of deviation from the KPI targets, conduct a detail root cause analysis and prepare insights
Share insights along with the Monthly Operations Dashboard with senior management, in order to highlight performance against the KPIs and corrective action required. - Input for Investor Reports
- On a monthly basis, review performance of the business against the Annual Budget.
Highlight areas of deviation (along with necessary insights regarding root cause analysis, corrective action, etc.) and share the identified areas with the senior management and global Finance Team for highlighting in Investor Reports - Quarterly Forecasting Review Process
- Review the actual performance against the Annual Budget on a quarterly basis.
In addition to the Annual Budget, review the Quarterly Forecast prepared. Ensure that while the Quarterly Forecast is dynamic and reflective of market realities, it is in line with the overall Annual Budget and management expectations - Monthly Review Meetings with Functional Teams
- Lead the meetings with Functional Heads (organized on a monthly basis) to review progress against the budget and forecast
Highlight areas of deviation from the plan, seek insights regarding root cause and provide guidance on corrective action to be adopted going forward. - Financial Review of M&A Activities
- Review the Financial Model (including feasibility and cost benefit analysis generated) and provide recommendations regarding the suitability of a potential M&A investment.
Support the M&A team by reviewing the term sheet from a commercial and financial compliance standpoint.
Review the performance of the M&A investment against the budgeted Financial Model. Recommend corrective action in case of deviation from the original model. - People Management and Development
- Allocate responsibilities to the members within team, supervise performance, resolve grievances, counsel and mentor team members
Ensure the timely completion of performance appraisals with quality review and inputs from Managers in order to increase the capability and morale of the team to deliver goals
Guide the team members in identifying priority areas for analysis and insight generation, to drive more action oriented outcomes
Support in recruitment related activities to meet the manpower needs of the business
