Research Analyst or Senior Research Analyst – Hedge Funds (Fintech/Software/Crypto Sectors)
Job Summary:
Looking for a highly motivated research associate to conduct in-depth research and analysis on companies in the fintech/software/crypto sectors, identifying potential investment opportunities, building/updating investment models, and helping in portfolio analytics.
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough research and analysis on companies in the fintech/software/crypto sector, including reviewing financial statements, industry trends, and market data.
Develop and maintain financial models to assess company valuations, forecast financial performance, and identify potential investment opportunities.
Prepare investment notes and present findings to the portfolio management team, articulating investment theses and presenting potential investment opinions.
Monitor and track industry trends, news, and events to identify potential investment opportunities and risks.
Collaborate with the portfolio management team to develop and implement investment strategies.
Assist in the due diligence process for potential investments, including reviewing company documents, participating in management calls, and conducting site visits.
Stay up-to-date with market trends and regulatory changes that may impact the sectors and the firm’s investments.
Contribute to the development of the firm’s investment theses and strategies.
Work closely with other members of the research team to share information, ideas, and insights.
Requirements:
MBA or CA or CFA with 2-5 years of experience in an investment research role, preferably in a hedge fund space or Fintech/Software/Crypto sectors.
Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles, as well as proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and assess potential investment opportunities.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and recommendations to a senior audience.
Familiarity with the fintech/software sector, including trends, companies, and industry dynamics.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with financial databases and tools, such as Bloomberg, FactSet, and Capital IQ.
