🔍 Role Overview:
As a Mortgage Underwriter, you’ll be responsible for evaluating mortgage loan applications, verifying borrower information, calculating income, and ensuring compliance with lending guidelines. The role involves the use of advanced underwriting tools, close attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration in a secure and fast-paced work environment.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
- Review and underwrite mortgage loan files
- Evaluate income, credit, assets, and collateral documents
- Ensure compliance with investor/client underwriting guidelines
- Work with automated underwriting systems
- Maintain data integrity within the loan operating system
- Provide clear conditions for final loan approvals
- Support teams with technical underwriting knowledge
🎯 Eligibility Criteria:
- Minimum 1.5+ years of conventional US mortgage underwriting experience
- Excellent knowledge of income calculation, tax return analysis, and credit reports
- Familiarity with appraisal documents and red flags
- Hands-on experience with AUS systems like DU or LP
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Detail-oriented and deadline-driven
- NMLS-MLO Licensure (preferred)
