📝 Job Role Overview:

Mphasis is looking for professionals with hands-on experience in US Residential Mortgage Underwriting. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, and investor guidelines, along with analytical and decision-making capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate full sets of loan documents for approval, denial, or counteroffers

• Analyze credit reports, public records, and perform credit reconciliations

• Conduct thorough income calculations (salaried, self-employed, rental, retired)

• Review tax documents: 1040s, Schedule E, 1065, 1120, K1s, etc.

• Perform asset verification including bank statements, mutual funds, and retirement accounts

• Execute creditworthiness assessments based on the 4C’s of Underwriting: Credit, Capacity, Collateral, and Capital

• Ensure accurate documentation and decision consistency

• Exhibit excellent communication and presentation skills

✅ Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in US mortgage underwriting

• Strong command over investor guidelines (FNMA, FHLMC)

• Excellent analytical and documentation skills

• Confidence in independent decision-making and risk assessment

• Strong command of credit, income, asset, and collateral analysis

• Must be self-motivated, team-oriented, and customer-focused
