đź’Ľ Job Summary & Responsibilities:
As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with bank policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements while reviewing loan applications. Your responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzing customer financials, employment history, and credit reports to assess loan applications
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and company lending guidelines
- Evaluating credit risk and determining loan approval or decline decisions
- Communicating with external stakeholders like brokers and lenders
- Demonstrating strong customer-centric communication skills
- Fraud detection and reviewing loan-to-value (LTV) ratios
âś… Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any field
- Experience: 2+ years in Australian, US, or UK mortgage domains (Pre-underwriting, Loan Processing, Mortgage Underwriting, or Post Close Underwriting)
- Skills:
- In-depth understanding of Responsible Lending Obligations
- Strong analytical and financial assessment skills
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Experience with KYC process
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Must-Have: Knowledge of Australian, US, or UK lending regulations
