The Fixed Assets Accounting Manager of the Corporate Accounting team will lead a team of ten to fifteen professionals based in Hyderabad City office and report to the Associate Accounting Director based in Hyderabad, as well as Finance contacts across WBD’s global offices. This position will support the day-to-day accounting of fixed assets and maintain the integrity and accuracy of the P&L and balance sheet. The Manager will oversee the team’s fixed assets end to end process (from creation of Internal Order to order settlement), Journal entries for accruals and manual ad hoc adjustment entries of fixed assets, monthly and quarterly variance explanations, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparing internal and external reporting schedules. This role will ensure all deliverables are completed timely, accurately, and will sign off on necessary close and control requirements. The ideal candidate should have excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills and a high level of professionalism and accountability to communicate financial information to Finance and Operational partners at all levels throughout the company.
Your Role Accountabilities…
- Internal Order approvals for CAPEX buying along with open Order review.
- Shopping Cart approvals for CAPEX buying.
- Ensure fixed asset accounting in timely manner. Also ensure for correct assets class, useful life, depreciation key, depreciation start date etc. for the correct Balance Sheet & P&L impact. Responsible for monthly depreciation run, retirement of assets, impairment of assets etc. to ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
- Review and approve the team’s work product to ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company policies and controls. Ensure appropriate supporting documentation is maintained. Quarterly sign off for fixed assets related SOX controls.
- Review and highlight relevant (fixed assets related) P&L and B/S variances between current month and YTD.
- Analyze existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide guidance to the team on how to implement those changes.
- Lead special projects and proactively develop accurate ad hoc analyses for management to make informed decisions. Including assisting in the system implementation of SAP S/4HANA and redesign processes that are currently performed in Peoplesoft. Review and maintain accounting process documentation.
- Assist with team administration: feedback, development, training, assessment.
Standard working hours for this role will be from 11:00am – 8:00pm (local time). However, during the month end close and transition, additional efforts will be required to ensure overlap of India and US time zone.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or equivalent
- Experience in similar positions (7+ years).
- Fluent in English
- Ability to adapt to dynamic and uncertain environments (flexibility and prioritization).
- Proactivity and accountability.
- Proficient in Excel and other MS tools.
- Abilities to develop interpersonal relationships.
Preferred
- CA and/or CPA
- Experience in working under matrix organization structure
- Experience in Media Industry, Big Four firms or global companies
- Experience in SAP/Peoplesoft or other ERP systems
- Experience in Hyperion, SmartView, EPM and other database tools
- Experience in Blackline/Cadency Certification
