Job Description/Skills Required
1. Preparation of Budgets for the respective assigned businesses
- Complete ownership of Budget Planning, communicating, cost productivity, validating and reviewing on a continuous basis.
- Creation of various reports, flash, forecasts, actual against the benchmarks (budget, industry, etc.) and keeping the management informed on the course of Business with regards to Profitability and Revenues.
- Complete ownership of validating the short term cost proposals and calculation of Break-evens, profitability, etc.
2. Profitability & Productivity for the respective assigned businesses
- Ownership of driving profitability through strong and timely MIS reporting – Participate in monthly BU meetings to provide inputs and share findings for performance improvement. Closely monitoring the ongoing performance against desired results and KPIs, informing the Management on an ongoing basis and drive corrective actions and prompt decisions collaborating with business partners and Senior Management.
- Aggressively pursue implementation of decisions through a rigorous tracking, review and escalation process.
- For any deviation on Results, initiating a root cause and informing the management on findings and suggesting initiatives for course corrections.
- Ownership of productivity initiatives within the organization to enhance profitability of the Organization
- Analyzing the productivity trends within the organization and discussing with support functions on initiatives to be implemented eg. People cost, Admin Opex, Warehousing Costs, IT Opex, etc.
3. Benchmarking & Financial Analysis for the assigned businesses
- Benchmarking for the businesses assigned : Analyzing the industry trends, market analytics, competition analysis, and basis the same working out quantifiable goals / objectives for preparing the desired business plans.
- Preparation of budgets based on the above and inputs from various stake holders involved CFO, CEO, Marketing Heads, Business Heads, Finance and taking relevant sanctions for the rollout of the same.
- Monitoring and controlling the budgetary spends based on the agreed figures.
- Post monitoring, provide analysis on various mid-term / course correction in the budgets and facilitate the cost effectiveness of these spends by way of qualitative analytics and deploying efficiency initiatives.
4. Post-activity evaluation of Return on Marketing Investments and other operating expenses for the respective assigned businesses
- Analyzing and monitoring the complete Return on marketing investments post-activity viz.-a-viz. total incremental Value generated and measure against desired objectives
- Value can be defined in terms of incremental margins, brand value / recall, market share, spread or reach (horizontal and vertical), SOV, SOE, or as applicable from case to case.
- Set up and own complete audit mechanisms of various activities being undertaken by Marketing department on different activities (including media buying)
