Job Description/Skills Required
- Monitor, review and approve the accounting activity for Fixed Assets including but not limited to asset additions, cancellations, reclassifications, capitalization, depreciation and the timely accounting close of multiple markets around the globe.
- Creation / Maintenance of Projects and Project accounting
- Control, analyze and account for the economic transactions of group companies generating the necessary records related to accounting for such transactions, particularly in Fixed Asset area, in compliance with applicable standards and policies.
- Perform monthly financial close activities, which include supervising and performing reconciliations, booking journal entries, and maintaining internal control documentation.
- Prepare reports and financial presentations by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing financial information.
- Attend to the requirements of internal and external audits in accordance with local accounting, US GAAP, IFRS and SOX guidelines.
- Generate and ensure the operation of the data governance process for the markets served by the service center, ensuring that internal information controls are complied with by clients and information requestors.
- Collaborate with internal customers to resolve queries related to accounting issues.
- Ensure all processes are executed in line with documented SLAs and drive effective conflict resolution.
- Analyse and report monthly metrics to demonstrate the performance of the Service Centre against agreed SLA’s as established in the service level agreements.
- Partner with global core process owner and other stakeholders to design & implement process improvements to enable standardization of accounting functions within the service center.
- Lead implementation of system and process enhancements to drive efficiencies and scalability.
- Lead integration of new markets into the service center
- Stay informed about latest company practices and guidelines.
Required Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree required. CA / CPA (or equivalent) required.
- Minimum of 8-12 years of accounting and supervisory experience.
- Staff management experience required.
- Strong understanding of business process design with experience in a shared services environment and / or commercial real estate environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of fixed asset, Project accounting and general ledger processes (from source transaction through to general ledger close) from both a design and operational perspective is required.
- An appreciation of the fundamentals of effective stakeholder management, customer service and process analysis / improvement are required.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the application and usage of large-scale ERP systems to improve transactional efficiency.
- Experience in the use of excel and other data manipulation & analytics tools is required.
- International travel may be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
- Strong organization, planning, and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks for self and team to meet requirements and deadlines.
- Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.
- Strong leadership skills: ability to drive and motivate team to achieve results.
