1. The Government has extended the imposition of Anti-Dumping Duty on imports of Colour coated or pre-painted flat products of alloy or non-alloy steel from China, and the European Union till 31st March 2022.
“In terms of sub-section (5) of section 9A of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 read with rule 23 of the Customs Tariff (Identification, Assessment and Collection of Anti-dumping Duty on Dumped Articles and for Determination of Injury) Rules, 1995, in the matter of continuation of anti-dumping duty on imports of “Colour coated/pre-painted flat products of alloy or non-alloy steel” falling under heading 7210, 7212, 7225 or 7226 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, originating in or exported from People’s Republic of China and European Union, imposed vide notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 49/2017-Customs (ADD), dated the 17th October, 2017 and has requested for extension of the said anti-dumping duty in terms of sub-section (5) of section 9A of the Customs Tariff Act,” the notification said.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-sections (1) and (5) of section 9A of the said Customs Tariff Act, read with rules 18 and 23 of the said rules, the Central Government amended the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 49/2017-Customs (ADD), dated the 17th October 2017. After paragraph 2 and before the Explanation, paragraph “3. Notwithstanding anything contained in paragraph 2, the anti-dumping duty imposed under this notification shall remain in force up to and inclusive of the 31st March 2022, unless revoked, superseded or amended earlier,” shall be inserted.
