The head of Goldman Sachs Group, Mr Harit Talwar is being considered by HDFC bank for the role of Chief Executive officer. 

India’s largest private sector lender is in discussion with Harit Talwar for the leading role, as per the people having knowledge about the matter.

Aditya Puri, the current CEO of HDFC, has served the HDFC bank since 1994 and hence he is one of the longest serving banking Chiefs in India.

His tenure is going to end in October and therefore the bank in on a lookout for the right fit.

Talwar has been working with Goldman since 2015 while earlier he was leading the US cards division for Discover Financial Services. He also experience of working with Citigroup for almost 15 years.
