Protest was carried out by CA students and also chartered accountants for reforms. The reforms were required for allowing a student right to revaluation of papers. Section 39(4) of The Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 was sought to be amended . Students were allowed to bring up the mistakes found in checking of the MCQs and if the results turn out to be positive . Few students submitted their concerns and the outcome was then declared positive. Considering the urge of the moment independent high level committee was set up on exam processes. The committee comprises of the following members:
- Dr. P. C. Jain, Govt. Nominee, Convenor
- Justice (CA.) Anil R. Dave, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India
- CA. Ved Jain, Past President, ICAI
- CA. Amarjit Chopra, Past President, ICAI
- CA. (Dr.) Girish Ahuja, Renowned Educationist
After the establishment of such committee , suggestions were invited from students which covered issues such as evaluation process of answer sheet, procedural changes required, format/structure of question paper, methodology of awarding marks including step by step marking and few more.
Suggestions were received by around 2400 persons and they are being considered by the committee.
The second meeting will be held soon for further discussion.
