a) In view of COVID 19 pandemic and Amphan, the state government has extended the term of its tax dispute settlement scheme by two months- from June 30 to September 30, 2020. Initially, the scheme was extended to June 30 from March 31.
b) According to a circular issued on June 24 only 25% of the disputed tax in case of VAT and sales tax has to be paid for one-time settlement and far as the penalty is concerned, only 10% has to be paid.
c) For entry tax, there will be a complete waiver of penalty. Even before the GST rollout in July 2017, the state had come out with a dispute settlement scheme for entry tax. The scheme had mopped up 950 crores.
