Another GST fraud caught in New Delhi

In New Delhi , GST officials have arrested 3 persons which involve 17 fake firms so far and wrongfully availing input tax credit on the taxes paid of ₹436 crores, by issuing fake invoices. Officers detected input tax credit has Ben fraudulently availed by these firms and filed refund claims of ₹11.55 crores.

During investigation , it was found that these 17 firms were existed only on paper and had been floated for passing on input tax credit by fake invoices. The three accused candidates are Asif Khan, Rajeev Chhatwal and Arjun Sharma were arrested on 1st March 2020 and remanded to judicial custody till 13th March 2020. It is said by the officials that accused are related to each other and were evading investigation for the last one month.
